It is getting hard for a lot of people to adjust to the lockdown. Finding ways to work, entertain, and maintain mental sanity. For some might enjoy reading books, meditate and watching movies, there are a few who pick up the controller and shut out the world. I am here to address that crowd. For gaming fanatics might have already played every game on this list, there is nothing wrong with acknowledging the creative and technical genius of these open worlds.
If you’re not a gamer then you might want to pick one of these for your “quarantine shenanigans,” we guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
1. Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt
CD Projekt Red did not just create a deserving end to their acclaimed series. They created something that will go down in the history books as one of the best games ever made. The open-world, the gameplay, the visuals. The Witcher’s got it all. I’m almost jealous of those playing this one for the first time.
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
You’ve got a PS4 and haven’t played this yet? Boy, are you missing out. Horizon zero dawn with its exceptional open world, presents players with challenges that are begging to be solved. The world is beautiful, and the storyline is mesmerizing.
3. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Bethesda games are known for their solid gameplay, and Skyrim is a testament to that fact. One of the best open-world games to exist, Skyrim, is one thousand hours of genius. Did you say you had a lot of time to kill?
4. Red Dead Redemption 2
I remember I was playing this game while my dad was a witness in the room. After almost 40 minutes, he saw me sitting on the couch with the controller. He was in shock as he thought he was watching a movie. That is the power of RDR2. Rockstar has managed to create something as detailed as life itself.
5. The Last of Us
If you haven’t played this masterpiece, this is the best time. A post-apocalyptic world scenario with empty streets and a quarantined city. Sounds Familiar? Yeah, that is very close to what we are facing right now, barring the apocalypse of-course. Even if you’re not a gamer, just ask your gamer buddy to play this for you while you can just enjoy the cinematic experience. It is that good.
