The Cannes Lions Festival is a five-day festival held yearly in Cannes, France.
Each June, around 11,00 candidates from 90 countries, visit Cannes to celebrate this festival.
History: Advertising health
The festival was inspired by the Cannes Film festival. The first was staged in Venice in 1954 followed by the next in Monte Carlo and the third festival was held in Cannes. The venue swayed between Venice and Cannes until 1984 where the event finally settled in France.

In 2013, the Festival launched a new category called the Innovation Lions, which are supposed to “honour the technology and innovation which facilitates creativity”, including recognition of the ‘Top 10 Startups to Watch’. Additionally, global start-ups can apply for the Start-up Academy to receive festival passes and access mentor-ship sessions.
Cannes Lions festival in 2012 decided to launch the Lions competition which awards the people related to the fields such as creative communication, wellness, and sustainability.
The competition is a two-day event where the participants explore and debate the essential and unique issues relating to the world of healthcare communications.
Young Lions Competition:
Previously known as Young creatives competition, Young Lions Competition began in 1995.
The competition is for the advanced professionals up to 30 years old working in teams of two. There are seven divisions that come under this competition are-
